Think of a beautiful summer’s day, dancing through a field of wheat, with the wind gently blowing in your face... what would you be wearing? Come and make a dress for just such an occasion. Everyone will find a pattern to make a summer dress of their dreams. We shall begin with a discussion on style and body shape. You will learn to make a basic body block with your chosen pattern and learn how to correct and adjust the pattern to your shape and size. Each student shall bring home a finished dress to wear.
In this workshop you shall learn to:-
- Choose patterns that are right for you
- Adjust and re-design simple patterns to your own style
- practice simple sewing techniques and notions
Your Tutor shall conduct an optional trip for fabric and pattern shopping and visitng various fabric shops in the city. This shall take place on Saturday 29th 9am.

All notions except pattern, fabric and lining provided for.
You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine to learn on.
The emphasis on the course is to bring home finished pieces. Focus is on the practical application rather than too much heavy theoretical examples.
These workshops are designed to offer high quality tuition in a relaxed and friendly setting. Ideas can be discussed and projects undertaken gradually at the pace of the student. The small group size and informal atmosphere means that you can learn both from individual tuition and from watching, and discussing with, the other students.
